As you know, during the last Semana Santa we instated a Beach Safety volunteer program to attend all the possible emergencies that could happen in Sayulita at that time and with all the crowd.

The following are the numbers for all the stats lovers as myself:

• Jellyfish injuries: 66
• Water rescues: 46
• Heart attack: 1
• Severe low blood sugar: 1
• Fractures: 1
• Stitches: 2
• Sun Dermatitis: 2
• Abdominal trauma: 1
• Bug bites:4
• Missing/found children: 1
• Removal of foreign object in foot: 1
• Cuts & Wounds: 2
• Twisted ankle: 1
• High/low Blood Pressure check: 2
• Muscle contracture: 1
• Allergic rhinitis: 1
• Diarrhea: 2
• Skin allergies: 3
• Drug overdose: 1
• Ambulance services: 3
• Deceases: 2 (Heart attack & Severe low blood sugar)
• Total of patients attended: 138
  • Medical Station: 90 patients
  • Lifeguard Tower: 48 patients

As you can see Jellyfish injuries was definitely the top of the list, and thanks to that, we acquired a lot of experience and luckily found the best natural treatment ever! (I will write about it soon)

What also comes to my attention, and hopefully yours too, is that the two unfortunate deaths that we had on that week, happened to Sayulita residents, not tourists, and their condition could have happened any other time of the year.

I would like to leave you a couple of questions in your mind:

1. During Semana Santa we had an ambulance in Sayulita which gave us a time response of 3-5 minutes, how do you think it could go when having a 30min to 2hr time response the rest of the year?
2. Would you contribute to have an ambulance with paramedics in Sayulita?

Como sabes, durante la Semana Santa de este año implantamos un programa de voluntarios para la Seguridad en la Playa, para atender todas las posibles emergencias que pudieran ocurrir en Sayulita en aquel momento y con toda esa multitud.

Así que, para todos los amantes de las estadisticas como yo, aquí están, los números que obtuvimos:

• Lesiones por Aguamala (medusas): 66
• Rescates acuaticos: 46
• Ataque al corazón: 1
• Hipoglucemia: 1
• Fracturas: 1
• Piquetes: 2
• Dermatitis solar: 2
• Traumatismo abdominal: 1
• Picaduras de insectos: 4
• Niños perdidos/encontrados: 1
• Extracción de cuerpo extraño en el pie: 1
• Cortes y heridas: 2
• Torcido el tobillo: 1
• Chequeo de presion: 2
• Contractura muscular: 1
• Rinitis alérgica: 1
• Diarrea: 2
• Alergias: 3
• Sobredosis de drogas: 1
• Servicios de ambulancia: 3
• Decesos: 2 (Ataque al corazón e hipoglucemia severa)
• Total de pacientes atendidos: 138

Como puedes ver, las lesiones por aguamala fueron definitivamente las que mas se atendieron y gracias a eso hemos adquirido mucha experiencia y por suerte encontramos el mejor tratamiento natural para tratar esta lesion (Voy a escribir sobre esto pronto)

Lo que también atrae mi atención, y espero que la tuya también, es que las 2 lamentables defunciones que tuvimos en esa semana, ocurrio a residentes de Sayulita, no a turistas, y la causa de su muerte podría haber ocurrido en cualquier otro momento del año.

Es por eso que quiero dejar un par de preguntas en tu mente:

1 .- Durante Semana Santa tuvimos una ambulancia fija en Sayulita y tuvo un tiempo de respuesta a las emergencias de 3-5 minutos, ¿Que crees que pasa cuando se tiene una respuesta de 30 minutos a 2 horas durante el resto del año?

2 .- ¿Contribuirias a que haya una ambulancia con paramédicos en Sayulita?
