School is out and we kids have been doing the summer vacation types of things in Sayulita. There has been a lot of swimming, both in the ocean and in people's pools...and eating candy.

Two days ago my friends, Sarah, Amarely and Jeshua and I decided to test a bunch of different candies. We tried a few different types of candies. There is a candy store on nearly every street in Sayulita. We went to the one called Tienda Wendy which is three houses down on my street. We bought some things I don't usually buy to be adventurous.

Pelonetes are chewy, fruity balls a lot like skittles.  There is also some chile in the candy and other different flavors. There is orange which is orange, red which is chile, yellow which is lemon and green which is apple. All the Pelonetes have lots of chile in them and they are very sour.

Lucas Gusano is a liquid candy; it tastes like chile and the fruit chamoy. It comes in a little squeeze bottle and you squirt it onto your hand or straight into your mouth. It is very sour, but good!

I really like Nutresa, which is a chocolate wrapped in foil to look like a soccer ball.  It is very chocolatey and you can play with it.  We rolled it around and played with it before we ate it. It is small but very good; my friends rated it an eight, I rated it a ten!

Action Hero candy was not a candy any of us liked. It was dry and chalky and tasted like vitamins. It looked like vitamins. If it was vitamins, maybe it would have been good. We all only ate one piece.

Pelón Pelo Rico Tamarindo is a sweet jelly that you have to push down to get the jelly to pop out. When you push it down it looks like the candy bottle is growing hair! It tastes like chile and is sour; it is fun to eat.

Sinaloense Peputoria De Cacahuate is crunchy with lots of peanuts and some carmel. It is just like peanut brittle. I think that there should be more caramel. It is shaped like a rectangle and is crisp.

Marzipan is a sugary peanut butter-tasting candy that is soft, shaped like a circl, and is easily to crumple up. I think this is the greatest candy ever. My friends and I gave it a ten, except Jeshua who gave it an 8 - he really likes chocolate more. He said it would be good with chocolate milk!

Lucas Muecas are like strawberry ring pops but have sour powdered chile and chamoy to dip them in. It is quite spicy and you put it with the powder and you make a funny face. Sarah really likes this; she gave it a perfect score.

Carlos V is a chocolate candy bar.  My friends all rate the Carlos V a 10 because it has a good kind of texture and the chocolate is very good. It is easy to share because it is indented, which makes it easier to break in individual pieces.

In Sayulita we do the usual kid things everyone does on summer vacation. Hanging out with friends, swimming and eating candy. Our candy is just a little bit spicier than most!

Los Dulces de Sayulita

Ya no hay clases, estamos de vacaciones, y hemos estado haciendo los tipos de cosas que hacemos en Sayulita. Ha habido un montón de natación, tanto en el océano y en las piscinas de la gente - y comemos mucho caramelos. 

Hace dos días mis amigos, Sarah, Amarely, Josué y yo, decidimos probar un montón de dulces diferentes. Hemos probado algunos tipos de dulces. Hay una tienda de dulces en casi todas las calles de Sayulita. Fuimos a la tienda Wendy que es de tres casas de la mía.  Para ser aventureros, compramos algunas cosas que no suelo comprar. 

Los Pelonetes son masticables, de bolas con sabor a fruta muy similar a los skittles. También hay algo de chile en los dulces. El caramelo tiene diferentes sabores de caramelos: de naranja que es de color naranja, de rojo que es de chile, de amarillo que es limón, y de verde que es de manzana. Todos los pelonetes contienen mucho chile, y son muy ágrias. 

Lucas Gusano es un caramelo líquido, con sabor a chile y la fruta chamoy. Viene en un frasco pequeño y lo arroja a chorros en la mano o directamente en la boca. Es muy amargo, ¡pero bueno! 

A mí me gusta mucho la Nutresa, que es un chocolate envuelto en papel que parece un balón de fútbol. Es muy chocolate y se puede jugar con él. Lo enrolladamos alrededor y jugamos con él antes de comerlo. Es pequeño pero muy bueno. Mis amigos lo calificaron como un ocho, ¡lo otorgué el número uno de las diez!

El dulce Héroe de Acción era un caramelo que a ninguno de nosotros le gustó. Era seca y gredoso con sabor de vitaminas y parecía vitaminas. Si hubiera sido vitaminas, tal vez habría sido bueno. Todos comemos solamente una pieza. 

El Pelón Pelo Rico Tamarindo es una jalea dulce que tienes que empujar hacia abajo para que salga la jalea. Al tirar hacia abajo, ¡parece que la botella de caramelo esté creciendo pelo!  El sabor es de chile, es amargo, y es divertido para comer. 

El Sinaloense Peputoria De Cacahuate es crujiente con una gran cantidad de maní y algo de caramelo. Es igual que el mani azucarado quemado. Creo que debería haber más caramelo. Tiene la forma de un rectángulo y es nítido. 

Mazapán es un maní azucarado dulce con sabor de mantequilla, que es suave con forma de círculo y es fácil de moldear. Creo que éste es el mejor dulce de todo. Mis amigos y yo le dimos un diez, a excepción de Josué, que le dio un 8 - a él realmente le gusta el chocolate más. ¡Dijo que sería bueno con leche de chocolate!

Las Muecas Lucas son como fresas en forma de anillos, pero tienen chile amargo en polvo y chamoy para sumergírselo. Es muy picante y lo pones con el polvo y te hace poner una cara graciosa. A Sarah le gusta mucho esto, y le dio un puntaje perfecto. 

Carlos V es una barra de chocolate de caramelo. Todos mis amigos calificaron el Carlos V a 10 porque era de buena textura y el chocolate es muy bueno. Es fácil de compartir, porque es sangrado, que le hace más fácil de romper en piezas individuales.

En Sayulita hacemos las cosas habituales que hacen todos los niños de vacaciones de verano. Salimos con amigos, nadamos y comemos dulces. ¡Sólo que nuestros dulces son un poco más picantes que la mayoría!
