Sayulimpia, organized by members of Grupo Pro Sayulita, has hired workers to help keep our streets clean - two men clean the beach, one sweeps the north end of calle Revolución, and another group works at the Recycling Depot. Felipe and his family, along with Eric Steinman, have been working hard to get the depot well-organized. All the signs are up to indicate which items go in each bin. There are also three dumpsters in front of the depot which are for regular garbage and are emptied by GIRSSA, so now you can drop off your recycling and garbage all in one place.

Felipe Rodriguez Joya and his wife and four children live at the depot and are all involved in the running of it. The family needs some household items, such as kitchen things, etc. and Felipe needs some good work boots in size 10. If you have any of these items to donate, the family would be much appreciated.

The depot has been collecting glass for the past four years, and recently arrangements have been made with the San Pancho depot to have the glass crushed there. Recently two tons of glass were taken to San Pancho which will eventually be sold. The small sum that is paid for the Sayulita recycled glass goes back into the community as needed, as now both the primary and secondary schools are collecting recycling.

A reminder of what the recycling depot accepts:

- the recycling plant at present accepts only #1 and #2 plastic bottles, including harder plastics such as milk and juice containers, glass bottles and jars (no other kinds of glass), aluminum and tin cans (labels ok), paper, cardboard, newspapers and magazines (including glossy). These last three don't need to be separated.
- please completely empty (liquids will splash everywhere when bins are emptied) and flatten all plastic bottles before placing them in the bins.
- flatten cardboard before placing in the bins, or if items are bulky and there are glass items, just place them in a box neatly on the ground beside the bin, rather than stuffing them in the container where they will take up too much space.
- ideally recycling bins should be just for plastic, aluminum and tin.
- PLEASE, NO TRASH IN BINS!

The depot is located on the Punta de Mita highway just past the right turn-off to Sayulita from Hwy 200, before you get to the big bridge over the river.

Actualización de reciclaje para abril

Sayulimpia, organizado por los miembros del Grupo Pro Sayulita, ha contratado a los trabajadores para ayudar a mantener nuestras calles limpias - dos hombres limpian la playa, uno barre el extremo norte de la calle Revolución, y otro grupo trabaja en el Depósito de Reciclaje.

Felipe y su familia, junto con Eric Steinman, han estado trabajando para mantener el almacén bien organizado. Todas las señales son para indicar qué artículos van en cada contenedor. También hay tres contenedores de basura a fuera del depósito que son para la basura regular; son vaciados por GIRSSA, por lo que ahora se puede dejar de reciclaje y basura en un sólo lugar.

Felipe Rodríguez Joya, su esposa y sus cuatro hijos viven en el depósito y todos son involucrados en el funcionamiento del lugar. La familia necesita un poco de artículos para el hogar, tales como las cosas de cocina, etc. y Felipe necesita un par de botas de trabajo de tamaño 10. Si usted tiene alguno de estos elementos a donar, la familia estaría muy apreciada.

El depósito ha sido coleccionando vidrio en los últimos cuatro años, y recientemente se han hecho arreglos con el depósito de San Pancho para que el vidrio sea machacado allí. Dos toneladas de vidrio fueron llevados a San Pancho que luego venden. Un recordatorio de lo que el depósito de reciclaje acepta:

- la planta de reciclaje en la actualidad sólo acepta # 1 y # 2 botellas de plástico, incluyendo plásticos gruesos como envases de leche y jugos, botellas y frascos de vidrio (ningún otro tipo de vidrio), aluminio y latas (con o sin etiquetas), papel, cartón, periódicos y revistas (incluyendo brillante). Estos tres últimos no deben ser separados.
- por favor vacía completamente (los líquidos se echan por todas partes cuando los contenedores no son vaciados) y acoplan todas las botellas de plástico antes de colocarlos en los contenedores.
- aplana cartón antes de colocarlo en los contenedores, o si los artículos son voluminosos y hay artículos de vidrio, simplemente colócalos en una caja en el suelo junto al contenidor, en lugar de rellenar el contenidor donde se ocuparán demasiado espacio.
- idealmente los contenedores de reciclaje deben ser sólo para el plástico, aluminio y estaño.
- ¡POR FAVOR NO PONGA BASURA EN LOS CONTENEDORES!

El depósito está situado en la carretera para Punta de Mita, justo después de la vuelta a la derecha a Sayulita después de salir de la carretera 200,antes de llegar al gran puente sobre el río.
