Real Media Travel Video Tours in Sayulita, Mexico
El Sayulero:
What is Real Media Travel?

Mark: We produce High Definition videos targeting the travel industry. Most of our clients have been vacation homeowners where we produce walkthrough video tours of their homes. Afterwards, we then place their video on the Internet via Sayulita Life, Avalos, and any other Internet outlet the client chooses. Promotional video:

El Sayulero: What is the difference between your videos and the 360-degree virtual tours we have been used to seeing?

Mark: The 360-degree tour is strictly several photos stringed together to create one image allowing the viewer to pan around one room at a time. We use video cameras and literally walk through an entire home to provide a more accurate description. In addition, we use equipment such as steady cam devices, sliders and dollies to maneuver through the home to eliminate the shakiness that is common in many videos seen today. This also creates a 3-dimensional, type feel as if the viewers are actually walking through the home themselves.

El Sayulero: Are the videos meant to replace the photos?

Mark: Absolutely not. The photos are very important and are the first thing everyone looks at. It's much more efficient to begin your vacation home search via photos. If the viewer is still interested in the villa after looking at the photos, they can then view the video to get a better idea of what the home is really like. This is why you will find photos of the homes on website in addition to the video.

El Sayulero: What other types of videos are you making for the travel industry?

Mark: We recently finished one for Miro Vino Restaurant and also Surf N Roll. We are currently in the process of making another one with a couple local businesses here in Sayulita. Anything that has to do with Sayulita, we will make and help to promote them.

El Sayulero: What is the relationship between RMT and local vacation rental companies such as Avalos and SayulitaLife.com

Mark: RMT has teamed up with both Avalos and Sayulita Life to help promote the videos to homeowners as both companies will be promoting these houses as well on their websites. Its really part of a large general effort to promote Sayulita to the world.

El Sayulero: Why should someone use you services over another company?

Mark: I believe the quality in our videos speaks for themselves. This should be a primary driver when deciding whom to choose to make your video for you. We have already been contacted by other outlets outside of Sayulita inquiring about our videos and services and this was prior to launching our website and promotional video. In addition, we did not solicit the business ourselves, but rather the visibility on YouTube and the quality of our videos attracted their attention.

El Sayulero: Can you tell me more about how your website realmediatravel.com, works and anything else you are doing?

Mark: We were hoping to have more content on it before going live with it, but we were receiving many questions regarding the website and specifically what we are doing here in Sayulita. The purpose of creating the website was to give the villa owners additional exposure rather than just creating a villa video and walking away. We will be adding more content locally from Sayulita such as restaurants, tour operators, etc to help drive more traffic. We also just completed our first promotional video of Sayulita. Again, this is all done to help promote the town of Sayulita and bring exposure to the villa owners. For example, if someone comes to our website based upon our content such as these promotional videos, they will only be exposed to the villas we have done videos for. We will not be featuring other vacation homes on there. Once we are done with Sayulita, we will be moving on to another location and essentially repeating this process and adding on to our website. This, too, is a competitive advantage we will have over anyone else. We will continually be promoting the town of Sayulita and the villas we feature as we add more content and move around to other locations. Someone could be deciding to choose where to take their next vacation and be on our website looking at our promotional videos. If they happen to like our Sayulita videos, their next step is to look at the villas or hotels. This is why it is important to look at the total cost when making a decision on whether or not to make the investment in a video.

El Sayulero: Are there any plans for another promotional video of Sayulita?

Mark: Yes. We would like to make several more promotional videos to help bring more tourism to Sayulita. We feel the best way to achieve this is by making several short videos with different themes rather than one longer video trying to cover everything. We realize there is no "one size fits all" video. Instead, by making several videos targeting different demographics using different styles, tempo, music, and actual video content, it will be more effective. We chose a more cinematic style theme for our first one and wanted to focus more on the beauty and nature of Sayulita. As long as I can continue getting houses to commit, we will have more Sayulita promotional videos which will benefit the entire town.

El Sayulero: Tell me some of your success stories

Mark: Just last week Avalos had a couple here that rented one of the houses that RMT shot a video for. We were fortunate enough to meet them and discuss the video as it was what sold them on the house they chose. They were impressed with how true the accommodations were compared to the video.

Here are a few quotes from homeowners we did video's for:

Bill and Kathy Glaysher, owners of Villa Muy Bien-

"It's impossible to estimate the incredible impact that Real Media Travel's videos have had on our rental business this season. I do know that in this soft tourist season we are having a record year. Our clients continue to provide positive feedback regarding the quality, style, composition and Mark's overall creative approach to rental marketing, all of which reflects positively on our home."

John and Michele Gillet owners of Casa Abuela-

"The video Mark recently shot of our home is sensational...the color is crisp and alive and the staging excellent. Watching it makes us want to rent the house! Tamra and he were spot-on; their professional eyes captured the house perfectly and why we love Sayulita."

El Sayulero: What is the best way to book a video or find out more information such as cost, how long does it take to make the video, or any other questions someone might have?

Mark: The best way is to contact me or Tamra at Avalos with any questions. I am happy to work out any sort of payment structure based on rentals or timeframe. Tamra at Avalos rentals@move2sayulita.com
