Murder Under The Palapa Perfomance a Hit

LiveTheater Sayulita's Wednesday evening performance of Murder Under the Palapa had a crowd of 80 laughing from beginning to end. The audience enjoyed the excellent dinner and ambience provided by Don Pedro's Restaurant and staff. Cast members Jennifer Culp, Leah Jewall, Sam Pottinger, Audrey Royem, and Bern Schnyder had a few laughs themselves, working with the unfamiliar sound system. "We were very proud of the way the cast performed," said Peter Glass, co-director. "They worked very hard to learn their parts -- within a comparatively short time period."
Murder Under the Palapa will be performed again tonight, April 20, 2012, at 6 p.m. at the Cultural Center. A donation of $50 pesos is appreciated. All proceeds from the productions go to the Primaria School to provide lunches for students who could not otherwise afford them. The principal and a teacher from the Primaria were in attendance at Wednesday's performance, and were awarded a check for $4,360 pesos representing the proceeds from March's production of Love Letters from LiveTheaterSayulita. Cal Deyermond, who handles the tickets for the company, estimates the total proceeds for this season will be well over $1,000 U.S. dollars.
