Where were you born and how old are you? I was born in San Francisco, Nayarit on February 16th, 1984.  I am 26 years old, and I've lived my whole life here.

¿Dónde naciste y cuántos años tienes? Nací en San Pancho el 16 de febrero de 1984. Tengo 26 años y toda mi vida he vivido aqui.

Family history? My mom’s name is Carmen Baltazar. She is 45 years old; my dad is José Cruz and he is 55. They own the grocery store “La Cubeta” next to the plaza. I have 3 brothers and sisters. Xochilth, 23, is a housewife, Veronica, 16, is a high school student and Daniel,12, goes to junior high school here in Sayulita. I'm the oldest; my family is one of the town founders.

 

Education history? Since kindergarden until middle school, I went to the local public schools. When in high school I studied at the CETMAR in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, with the specialty of Business Administration. I studied one semester of architecture in the Tec of Tepic.

Historia educativa. desde el kinder hasta la secundaria estudie en las escuelas publicas de sayulita. estudie la preparatoria en el CETMAR de la cruz de Huanacaxtle, en la especialidad de Administracion de Empresas. hice un semestre de arquitectura en el TEcnologico de Tepic.

Work history?  I have worked with my parents at the grocery store. Currently I manage my taco stand named Skandalo. Before it used to be a place where we sold menudo (a typical mexican dish made with cow intestines) and I helped them.

He trabajado en la tienda de mis papas y actualmente manejo mi negocio, la taqueria Skandalo, en el cual antes vendiamos menudo los domingos y tambien les ayudaba.

What's the biggest change that you have seen in Sayulita? Almost everything has changed, starting from the streets besides in the economy; the sayulita people have upgraded a lot.

Cual ha sido el cambio mas grande que has visto en Sayulita hasta ahora? Casi todo ha cambiado, empezando por las calles y por la parte economica la gente se ha superado.

What's your advice for the people who come to Sayulita for the first time? Sayulita is a town full of life, high in spirit and friendly, with beautiful and clean beaches. I like almost everything, otherwise, it would be a while since I’d moved somewhere else. Try the Mexican food, the tacos.  Personally I enjoy the Virgin of Guadalupe holidays in December and the town party in February.

Que le dirias a la gente que viene por primera vez a sayulita? Que sayulita es un pueblo lleno de vida, muy alegre y amigable, con playas mas bonitas y limpias. me gusta casi todo, si no, hace mucho que me hubiera ido a vivir a otro lado. Que prueben la comida mexicana, los tacos. personalmente disfruto mucho las fiestas patronales de la virgen de guadalupe y las fiestas de febrero.
