Circus in Sayulita

A new circus is in town, the "Gigante Circo Continental." According to Jesus Ponce, a motocross performer and animal trainer, this is their first time in Sayulita. By word of mouth, they discovered Sayulita and made it one of their chosen destinations for the show. Beforehand they were in La Penita, and afterwards they will be traveling to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. In their show they feature a variety of animals and performers. If you haven't seen them yet, they have set up giant tents and stables on the baseball field. During this week, a loudspeaker has been announcing the arrival of the circus. To grab the attention of potential attendees, some of the animals are hauled around on the back of a truck throughout the pueblo while they announce the show times. The circus plans to be here performing Thursday, Friday and Saturday (April 19th-21st).

Jesus Ponce says that this circus has been in existence since 1913. Its home base is in Sonora, Mexico and yet they stay on the move touring the country year-round. The amount of performers varies, as does the amount and types of animals. The owners have a total of three traveling circuses and interchange the animals and performers based on location and circumstances. Depending on their location, the circus will feature foreign performers who have a talent to add to the entertainment.
The performance that they will be doing here is a small-scale version of the normal show, as they will only be here for 3 days. There are roughly 20 performers, 10 of which are responsible for the set up and take down.

Walk with your family to the baseball field during the day and you will get a feel for some of the animals in the show. As you will see, there are a variety of animals that are definitely not native to Sayulita. One of my favorites was the mini-zebra, what will be yours?

El Circo en Sayulita

Un circo Nuevo es en el pueblo, el "Gigante Circo Continental." De Jesús Ponce, un ejecutante de motocross y entrenador de animales, es la primera vez para este circo en Sayulita. De palabra por boca, ellos descubrieron Sayulita y la hicieron como uno de sus destinos del show. Antes de aquí, estaban en La Penita, y después se van a La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. En el show muestran una variedad de animales y ejecutantes. Si todavía no los has visto, han arreglado unos tiendas de campana gigantes y establos en la cancha de béisbol. Durante la semana, una altavoz ha sido pasando por el pueblo anunciando la llegada del circo. Para hacerse atención a los que posiblemente vayan, unos de los animales han sido llevados por el pueblo atrás de una camioneta por el pueblo cuando se anuncian los horarios del show. El circo planea a estar aquí dando shows el Jueves, Viernes y Sábado(Abril 19 hasta 21).

Jesús Ponce dijo que el circo ha estado en existencia desde 1913. La casa principal del circo esta ubicada en Sonora México pero se van moviendo por el país todo el ano. Hay una variedad en la cantidad de los ejecutantes y los animales. Los dueños del circo tienen 3 circos en total y los animales están intercambiados como los ejecutantes basado en la ubicación del circo y circunstancias. Depende sobre su ubicación, el circo puede tener la participación del extranjeros quien tiene un talento para añadir a la diversión. El show que ellos van a dar en Sayulita es una versión mas chiquito que lo normal, porque solo van a estar aquí para 3 días. Hay alrededor de 20 ejecutantes y 10 de ellos que están responsables para instalar y desmontar.

Camina a la cancha del béisbol durante el día y vas a ver unos de los animales en el show. Vas a ver que hay una variedad de animales que definitivamente no son nativos a Sayulita. Uno de mis favoritos era el zebra chiquito, que va a ser el tuyo?
